I thought that both of you might appreciate an update on Christine and her breathing. In late August Christine started running Cross Country to help her prepare for the indoor/outdoor track seasons. Her primary goals were conditioning and strength building. Initially it was clear that she was getting stronger, however her breathing was still labored. Over the last two to three weeks her breathing has improved significantly. This past weekend Christine finished 4th in the Freshman Girls 1.5 mile race at Byram Hills running a sub 7 min. per mile pace. She had not run under an 8 minute per mile pace in any previous event. Moreover she did not appear to have labored breathing. She also did not look like she was suffering at the end of the race. Christine is still using her inhaler. However she reports that she needs it less.
All this is great news.
